Features of the eScreen (eCup):

eScreen's patented 5-panel collection cup, designed with the donor and collector in mind.

eCup is a self contained testing device that does not require pouring, transferring or pipetting of the specimen. It consists of a 'dumb' cup and a 'smart' lid. The 'smart' lid contains reagent test strips, sensitive to the five-test SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) profile cutoff levels.

The eCup was developed with a built-in adulteration test and four channels in the cylinder of the 'smart' lid to transport urine from the cup to the test strips, without human intervention.

Specimen is collected in the eCup, sealed and entered into the eScreen123 software.

The eCup is inserted into the eReader and with one click of the mouse; the eReader is activated and completes the screening process without any further human involvement.

Negative specimens are determined within 3-8 minutes and reported back to the employer electronically.

Specimens requiring additional GC/MS testing are ready for shipping.

The eScreen eReader is the only instrumented point-of-collection drug testing device on the market. Designed to activate the eCup, read the results of the test and transmit those results to the eScreen software suite, for test result reporting to the client.

The eReader was recognized as winner of the 2001 Medical Design Excellence Award (MDEA) presented by Canon Communications LLC.

The eReader is programmed to identify the bar-code seal on the eCup to ensure it is valid and matches the bar-code entered in the eScreen123 software during collection.

The eReader plunges the eCup, transferring the required amount of urine onto the reagent test strips in the eCup lid. Once the reagents react with the specimen, the eReader uses optical imaging to read and interpret the presence or absence of a line in the test quadrants, thus determining a negative or non-negative result.

This proven technology enables the eReader to consistently capture drug test results without the subjectivity of human interpretation.

Within 2-8 minutes the test is complete, and the eReader communicates the result to the eScreen system for electronic reporting to the client. The collector is then prompted by the system to discard the specimen or send it to the lab for confirmation.

The Concept of 3 Easy Steps

Step One: Verify collection information

• Collector verifies donor information.
• Donor chooses an eCup.
• Donor provides specimen.

Step Two: Inspect specimen for signs of adulteration

• Collector inspects urine sample for signs of adulteration.
• Collector verifies specimen is within the correct temperature range.

Step Three: Seal specimen and generate Chain of Custody form

• Donor chooses eCup lid.
• Collector seals the eCup with tamper evident seal and scans barcode number into the system to create paperless Chain of Custody.
• Collector is prompted by the system to capture the donor signature electronically with the ePad.
• Once signed, the CCF form is stored with signature image.
• The donor is dismissed and the eCup is read by eReader.
• Collector is notified of a "Discard Specimen" or "Send to Lab" message within 3-8 minutes.
• The Chain of Custody (CCF) form is only printed if the eCup is screened as a "Send to Lab" specimen or if the donor requests a copy.
